How much did you pay for gas today?

Fucking pirates.

 

Went up nearly 40 cents just this afternoon, from $3.05 this morning to $3.44 at about 3 p.m. Glad I hit the pumps in the AM -- and never thought I'd say that about $3-per-gallon gas.

 

went down another penny to $3.25.

 

I did for the first time yesterday. The light was on, and I was 30 miles from the $2.98 store, so I had to drop $5 in the tank.

 

After Katrina, when the Southeastern pipelines were cut off, I paid $4.50 a gallon for regular in Atlanta. By that point, most of the gas stations were already completely out of gas. I didn't have a choice though. I was almost on E and couldn't just stop working. I live about 30 miles from my office, so I couldn't really just bike to work.

I'm glad I did it when I did though. It was around 6:00p.m. when I filled up. Then next morning when I was on my way to work, not a single gas station along my route had any fuel.

Atlanta's public transportation sucks to a point that with where I live and where my office is, I would have to go through four different privately owned transportation companies to get to work and I would still have to walk two miles from my house to the first stop and a little over a mile from the last stop to my house, and I live right off a major highway. It really sucks.

It dropped six cents here to $3.23!! Holy shit, I'm thinking of buying a new house with the money I'm saving on gas this week.

Got a rental car yesterday and exiting the lot the attendant asks the magic question, "Do you want to prepay for gas or fill it yourself?" I know it's ALWAYS better to fill it yourself, but with gas going up 10 cents a gallon every other day, or so it seems, I went ahead and said I'd pay the $3.08 a gallon the bring it back empty. Now I need to hope the electronic gizmo works — the one that automatically tells me how many more miles I can go before the car stops.

 

I'm loving public transit more and more but more and more weirdos are also using it as well. It scares me.

$3.29 near the Savannah airport... of course I went 2 miles down and it was $2.98. So there you go.

 

$3.199 a gallon -- took $73 to fill up my pickup.

One of the many reasons I now bike everywhere practical.
