I love having Les on the list. What a magical time that was. Thanks, Slap.

I can't tell you how many "Herbies" I skated.

I was working as a news editor at a small paper in southern Minnesota (the one with a German brewery) when they dumped Steckel and rehired Bud Grant.
We were butt-up against deadline and the composing room is screaming because page one isn't done. I told the supervisor to call the publisher to complain because AP hadn't moved the story yet and I was damned if I was going to be the only paper in Minnesota not to have this on the front, let alone in the paper.

"Dino" and "Goldy" for those of us who still lament the passing of the North Stars.

And mention "Clem" and only one name comes to mind.

Not in a good way, though.

  8. Geez, do I have to?

If nothing else, this thread has made evident how many one-named celebrities there have been in Minnesota.

Just be glad he didn't say Lutefisk.

Dino's garage escapades were a little out there...

The kid must've been Michael Floyd. Committed to Notre Dame according to Shooter. Fear the Gopher...
