Surely you jest. As it is now Alley is afraid to tell people in West Texas that he is a liberal as he told us on the John Edwards thread.

He would be a basket case living under Hugo.

Maybe you should consider the fact that you recently called Alley an idiot.

No, I called Jay an idiot. Pay attention.

    My mistake. :D

  6. Frankly, I don't see why Bush even has to enter this conversation.

Chavez is nuts. Unfortunately, he's also sitting on a lake of oil.

Wonder what the Venezuelan ballplayers up here think of him?

  7. Yes, because I always go to the ballplayers for my geopolitics.

Given the choice of hearing from say Mike Mussina or Hillary, I would rather learn about geopolitics from Moose.

  9. Hey, if it's OK for Barbra Streisand to opine on Bush, Ozzie Guillen can talk about Chavez.

Wow...Not sure where to begin with that one, but I'll try...

    a) Never said I lived in West Texas, so I have to wonder where that reference came from. I actually live in East Texas and have said so repeatedly.
    b) Never said I was "afraid" to tell people I'm liberal. I've made it very clear that I live in an incredibly conservative bastion of East Texas where liberal opinions aren't really appreciated. Doesn't mean I'm afraid.

So Boom, instead of focusing on me, why not focus on, y'know, the topic. Appreciate it.

I suppose I could have, but the alternative was rather unwieldy:

"Only the likes of Yawn, whom Bill Kristol has boned in the ear so many times at Weekly Standard Wild Wednesday parties that permanent brain damage has set in, promulgate the sentiment that 'all liberals must like Chavez.'"

All things being equal, "assclown" just seemed to work better. Maybe this discussion belongs in Writers' Workshop?

Those evil conservative scribes. I must soak up moveon.org. Much more stimulating.

I'd rather be a human golf tee.
