Hygiene questions -- shaving and showering (with a poll)

I shave 1.5 times per week... and I'm nearly 28. Always in the shower, but I go commando and do it without the benefit of a mirror, because it keeps me on my toes.

 

UTShooter must put off a good vibe if both men and women are interested. And until I saw this thread, I never heard of men shaving in the shower. You mean, with the water shooting at you, you can put on shaving cream and all that? Stunning.

 

I tried shaving once or twice in the shower. Didn't work so well.

Always shave then shower now. I try to keep the window and door open a crack each so the mirror isn't completely fogged up. I just got one of those Gillette Fusion razors...outstanding. Best shaves I've ever had, by far. Because I have almost no facial hair (more on that in a moment), I used to use Gillette disposables, but the Fusion is great.

The Bic disposables make my face break out like Acne-Faced Kid from "The Simpsons."

I usually shave every other day or every three days. I've got an inability to grow facial hair that would cause Ralph Macchio shame. You should see when I go a week without shaving. I look like a stupid dopey teenage kid in the middle of puberty. I'd love to be able to grow a beard. Oh well.

I couldn't stand to have to shave every day ... so I'm glad I (and the girl, of course, whose opinion matters most) like the stubbled and/or bearded look.

It takes me about five days to go from baby-faced to full-grown beard, and about 10 days to get all Grizzly Adams-like. Sometimes I'll shave 3x a week and just leave some stubble; sometimes I'll go three weeks without shaving and just trim up the beard to keep it presentable. ... I change it up every couple of weeks, depending on mood/climate or whatever. (Translation: if it makes the girl happy, it's good enough for me. 8))

 

Good call, buckdub. Always gotta check with the girl, because some are really too sensitive to get kissed by a guy with a beard/stubble. Others (hi, Sportschick!) dig the facial hair. I've got a preference for scruffy.

I do the legs during the shower, and hands-down the worst was having to shave legs in those stand-up college dorm showers. You have to turn off the water or risk drowning, then you get a chill which gives you goosebumps, which means you nick the hell out of yourself.

 

My face legitimately scabs over if I kiss a guy with stubble. I dated a guy once who would shave like twice a day for me.

The guy I'm dating now hates to shave, but he does it for me. I've learned to adjust a little, so I can get away with him shaving like every other day...but longer than that and I can literally bleed.

 

One of my sisters has skin almost as sensitive as IJAG. She doesn't bleed, but her skin gets super irritated.

Really glad I don't, cause I love Zeke and his brethren with facial hair.

 

Only Women Bleed.

 

I can't shave every day, because it gets old quick. Once every three days would be ideal, four is pushing it.
