Didn't know Michael Shannon was in Groundhog Day. He had lots of bit parts before becoming a name including Pearl Harbor, Vanilla Sky, Bad Boys II and........Kangaroo Jack.

Seeing the "Angels in the Outfield" entry, I think Neil McDonough is on track to becoming one of the best "That Guys" in Hollywood. Captain America, 88 Minutes, Walking Tall (The Rock version), Band of Brothers, Minority Report just off the top of my head.

Jim True-Frost, who was Det. Pryzbylewski on "The Wire," was in "Singles" 10 years earlier.

Has Tom Hanks' appearance as an alcoholic relative on Family Ties been mentioned? He tried getting drunk on the alcohol content in vanilla.

Band of Brothers is chock full of cameos like that. My favorite is Jimmy Fallon driving the ammo wagon in the "Crossroads" episode (the one where they head to Bastogne at the end).

He's also in Layer Cake with Daniel Craig. Awesome flick.

Michael Fassbender's expression when Lt. Spears asks if they want a smoke is priceless. Jimmy Fallon was almost as surprising as Ted Danson in Saving Private Ryan. Didn't see either one coming.

I just caught a little bit of "Not Another Teen Movie" on HBO last night. I forgot that Chris Evans (Captain America) is one of the main characters. Also appearing in that movie is Joanna Garcia, who played a cheerleader with Tourette's. She's was also on "Reba," is in that new show "Animal Practice" and is Mrs. Nick Swisher if I'm not mistaken.

Always freaks me out a little when I randomly see a lesser-known actor more than once in a short time span.

I did that recently when I saw both "Into the Wild" and "Capote." Knew she was in the latter, but had no idea she was in "ItW." I have never seen too much of her work, so twice in a week or so was bizarre.

Going through her credits, it looks like her first role was in "About Last Night."

Just caught part of another movie on HBO, "Angus" with James Van Der Beek, Kevin Connolly and the Sherminator (Chris Owen).
