It was supposed to snow heavily overnight into the morning and through the early afternoon. The sidewalks near my place were actually salted in advance. I woke up this morning to zero snowfall, so all that's on the ground is the salt.

This snow here is the weak sauce compared to last week's storm.
My daughter, 100 miles to the north, has 18 inches and much more to come.

I thought you lived in the Northwest? Or do you just have places everywhere?

Our rain has shifted to snow. Big flakes, probably won't amount to more than two inches, but it's pretty

How else do you think he knows everyone at every newspaper in the country.

Weathermen are fools. That 6 to 12 inch forecast? More like over 2 feet. Had some people to check on today and I stepped in snow up to my thigh. Fell down twice and lost both boots twice. Some old timer walking down the street said it was like the blizzard of 1950.

Friend of mine in Pittsburgh says they're getting walloped there. One weatherman here said we're "only looking at another 3-6 inches the rest of today." Sheesh. But by this point it doesn't matter either. A hangar at Dulles airport collapsed. And I've seen some tragic TV reporting around here today. Major market my ass.

Roofs, and not roads, should be the biggest concern in DC right now.

Three feet of snow equals about three inches of standing water, and one gallon of water weighs about five pounds.

27,000 gallons, or 50 tons of water, spreads one inch of water over a football field.

Very sunny with clear roads and sidewalks here.

How's those cherry blossoms look today in DC? :D

Yeah, Pittsburgh's getting crushed. My dad says there's at least a foot on the ground, if not more.

Here in West Virginia, we've probably gotten about 14. One local stretch of road is basically unnavigable because all the downed trees/phone lines.
