This would be a great weekend to visit Richmond.

Just be safe up there. I have a bad feeling something major is going to have it's roof collapse.

6-10 inches coming here overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.

We're fairly under budget when it comes to snow removal, so hopefully the crews are out prepping the roads a bit Tuesday night.

Metro just announced limited service for Tuesday. It's opening up more outdoor stations, though.

We've had about an inch in the last two hours.

Before the sun came up today I had to drive south on 395. I've never seen an interstate highway in this area in worse shape some 36 hours after it snowed. A white-knuckle drive the whole way. Even in the one semi-clear lane, I never went faster than about 35 mph, much slower for most of the ride. The northbound ride home was like being on an off-road course. Slush was flying everywhere, cars were bouncing around on the chunks of snow and ice and most of the time you couldn't tell where the lanes were. Debacle.

This shoveling is starting to wear me out. I tried to be a hero all weekend and help all my neighbors, but no more. This afternoon I finally dug out my girlfriend's car. It took well over an hour, and I'm just fucking drained.

More full service lines than I expected. That's how I'm getting to work...whenever I go back. I usually park along the street, but there ain't no way that's happening. For anyone. At least for a while. So instead of free parking, I'll pay $4.50 a day to park at the Metro station and another $5 a day to ride to and from. Awesome.

I laughed hard at the "that's what she said" post. Bravo.

We had a dude with a bulldozer dig out our entire neighborhood. That's the good news.

The bad news is he left behind 10-foot snow drifts. I have absolutely no idea where I would put another foot of snow.

My current thought is just to shovel out my cars, dump the snow in the sidewalk, pay the stupid $50 fine to the city and have them deal with it.

Another 15 inches of snow coming starting later today. The good news is that once I snap it'll be June before everything melts and all the bodies are found.

During the ice storm that hit Kentucky/Indiana/Ohio last January, a routine drive on I-64 (normally about an hour and 10 minutes) took me nearly three hours. Everyone who dared to get on the highway was driving right in the middle, so it was down to one lane, and I never made it over 40 MPH.

The center median was peppered with cars, and there were numerous people who just stopped and left their cars on the side of the interstate. Worst thing I've ever seen.
