MrsExpendable says the thinking in her school system is to get the kids in and they'll probably end up dismissing early morning. Guess that counts as a day. What I don't get are the counties that have already closed for tomorrow. I hope nothing happens, just so they end up looking like jackasses -- especially when all are in classes on a Saturday.

Every school system in this area shut down this a.m., though nothing has happened yet. Except one. My wife's. She just left.
Going to be a great weekend.

Federal Govt is giving 4 hours early release today. Won't matter to me since today's my RDO, but I'm guessing we'll be shut down on Monday, too.

I have some severe melting going on outside right now, which might explain why Littleexpendable is sleeping in, and Mrsexpendable is out and about doing things teachers do when school gets called too quickly.

Finally stopped raining here for the firsttime in like 30 hours. Were this 150 miles north, it would have been about 18 inches of snow.

Finally starting to stick. A little.

I can live with this forecast:

Tonight: Cloudy with snow showers this evening and steady snow likely after midnight. Low near 25F. Winds NE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 80%. 1 to 3 inches of snow expected.
Tomorrow: Snow showers. High 28F. Winds NNE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of snow 70%. Snowfall around one inch.

That's North Jersey. The Shore and deep South (AKA Delaware) area are under blizzard watch. Could get 18-24" down there.

Been snowing here for about 90 minutes or so. Not sticking to the roads just yet, though. It will. Soon.

Eastern Michigan plans to lose another basketball game, bringing Pee Wee's protege one game closer to the ax.

And there's not one speck of snow. They say we may get an inch or two in about three days.

There was one lonely case of PBR left last night at Kroger. I felt it was my duty to buy it.

An Eastern Michigan revenue team (an oxymoron, I know) losing? Whoda thunk it?

Like you Hank, I'm counting my blessings that the storm is just going to skirt us, especially with how many members of sj nation live fairly close to DC. They say we might get an inch or two tonight.
