I thought the Bartman doc was going to be part of 30 for 30

That's a good story on Looney and he is spot on in his assessment of Bartman's behavior. Him sitting there like a bump on a log and going into life long hiding didn't help his cause.

To me the biggest thing out of the story is Looney's fellow firemen turning on him and his captain telling him transfer. That's bullshit.

I can believe it. Then again, I also live in a place where an auto salesman got fired for wearing a Packers' tie to work after the NFC Championship series. A guy who has since become one of the best salesmen for his new dealership.

Bartman shows up in a photo with Lou Holtz:

Deadspin's question is a good one: How has this guy avoided the Internet all these years? I'm sure one reason is he's difficult to recognize. But it's still a pretty impressive feat in a world of ubiquitous cell phone cameras and such.

I sure as hell know that I would've gone for that foul ball, and I would have never even given a thought to the idea that Moises Alou might be coming over to try and catch it as well.

And the douchebag who was laughing about harassing Bartman that night needs to get his ass kicked.

There's a real mystique about Steve Bartman. If he does some stupid TV interview, that's all gone.

I want to echo that Moises Alou is still being a dick about this. So much so, his mouth pissed on his hands to get them toughened up for his next at-bat.

Shaggy, I've been waiting for someone to say that because I remember when certain posters here back in 2003 said that "I would have never gone after that foul ball."

To those who said that line, they are full of shit and fucking liars.

All of us would have reached out to snag a foul ball in any game, playoffs or not. Yeah, Bartman and the others were trying to snag foul balls out there in that area all night. It's what fans do at baseballs games. Anyone who says otherwise are fooling themselves.

Oh, Moises Alou, you and Aramis Ramirez proven everything I thought you guys were: quitters, and guys who were never interested in winning.

I disagree and I thought that was a sort of cheap shot on Gibney's part.

So he wanted to be on TV? Big deal. People are waving at the camera all the time. It's not how I act as a fan, but many do.

It's apropos of nothing as far as the foul ball is concerned. The foul ball found him, along with infamy and double-digit Fox cameras.

This I agree with. Unless they were told to disperse for security reasons, those might be the weakest willed friends anyone could have.

They also mentioned that Bartman and his friends rented a hotel room to party after the presumed pennant-clincher. Did they bolt to the room?

Take that and shove it up your ass. I've been to games *before* the Bartman incident and made a plan ahead of time to back off of fly balls when the team I'm fanboi-ing for is trying to catch them. It's a nerdy thing to think about, but there are nerds out there.

Would most people have gone for the ball? Sure. Would everyone? No.

Good for you Rick. You are so much more superior than the majority.
