Let me think here... the bible thingy.... those commandment thingies... Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery... must not be in the "This is what's embarrassing to holier-than-thou Republicans" bible...

I think things have simply reached critical mass with the, um, Oral Majority within the RNC. Don't forget the Right Honorable Mr. John Double- Sawbuck for Some Lovin' in the john a couple of months ago. Who's name now escapes me.

The party can ill-afford the appearance of such comprehensive licentiousness among the sexless faithful.

Switch Craig or Vitter or Oral Twenty on the timeline, and they still get sent packing. The music stopped and Mr. Craig's gotta go.

No no no. Wrong bible. I'm talking about the bible that puts gays just west of Satan on the bad list.

Well, let's see. If Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Newt Gingrich, John McCain, et. al. had been previously gay instead of previously divorced I think the GOP would view him a little differently.

Ragu, if it wasn't for the case of the governors, I see the talking points being repeated over and over again about how it was just a mistake.

Sure, the Larry Craig being gay thing is bad, evil and will probably force me to get a divorce (you know that whole defending marriage thing), but they want a sitting Republican going up for re-election in '08. It just locks the seat in.

It's kind of interesting how right-wing talk radio is spinning this. They say the liberals are the hypocrites because they're acting all outraged about this and yet they're supposed to be OK with homosexuality.
Savage jumped on Chris Matthews for referring to Larry Craig as a sexual deviant. So Matthews basically said gay sex is deviant, Savage said.
They're also saying it's a smokescreen for for Hillary Clinton's campaign finance issues.

I wasn't arguing the point. They are politicians. It's obvious that is what they want. I was also adding the point that gays are bad, bad, bad people.

To which the obvious answer is "Gay sex isn't deviant, but cruising certainly is."

    Of course, that requires logic.

Whose outraged? Barney Frank because Craig won't return his calls? Are the Dems calling for Craig's ouster?

Smokescreen for Hillary's campaign finance issues... so this is a vast left-wing conspiracy against Larry Craig?
