Idiot columnist of the day

I don't think he said it was the guys fault or even hinted it.

What he said was if you wear a jersey of an opponent to a game where a bunch of drunk idiots are, there is a chance u may get your ass beat.

Again, as is mostly the case in any of these over-the-top responses when someone says something that is deemed mean by the whiny assholes of the political correctness crowd - I just don't see that the actual column merited this kind of response

And if you write stupid shit in the newspaper, there's a chance you get mocked from coast to coast.

Quit being such a whiny asshole, zagoshe.

    Then you weren't paying at
As wrong as zagoshe is -- and he is totally wrong -- there's really no need to use the word "asshole."

I'm not whining even a little, just pointing out that some of you pussies from the touchy feely crowd need to stop trying so hard to complete the transformation of this country into a nation of wusses every time your feelings are hurt

Zag, you really didn't read any "blaming of the victim" in his column? I'm asking honestly.

IJAC - no I think his column was poorly written and his point got lost as a result but even so, I read it as "guys who wear jerseys are immature" and most fans are drunk idiots and thus he lacks sympathy for anyone who dons a jersey in a hostile environment with alcohol involved and ends up getting beat up.

Again I didn't think it was well written or particularly inspired but I also didn't see why it turned into such a national firestorm.

Oh, come on. That was damn funny.

Yeah. OK. That's why I deleted it. (Certainly not to pre-empt a shitstorm.)

You need a Yuengling, sir. I admit it wasn't as funny as "pornstachioed cretin" from IJAG's link, however. I know when I'm beat.

  10. And you don't think he's wrong in that, and in particular using this specific case to further that argument?

I think the column would not have been written had it not been for the incident in question

    Brilliant deduction there.
