I don't mean to sound angry. I guess I just expect more out of college students. My undergrad education was difficult. I was challenged. I was given a task and expected to complete it. There was no hand-holding. There was no easy way out. And, I didn't go to some Ivy League school. In fact, far from it.

I've always told people that I'm not that smart, but I'm willing to put in the work. In fact, I think it comes from my background in journalism. That's a profession where you get beat by sitting on your hands.

Now, back to writing up a community development plan for an impoverished urban area. Fun. Fun.

As someone who just sat down to grade final projects, I have to agree here.

Stealing from one source is plagiarism. Stealing from many sources is research.

Good writers borrow from other writers. Great writers steal from them outright.

If you give a man a book report, he may get a C.

If you teach a man how to read a freakin' book and do the damn report, he may become president.

So if XXXX becomes a sportswriter, is he going to come on here and ask us to write his game story for us too?

But what if you're smart and don't need to put in the work? I probably spent more time figuring out ways to get around doing work than I did actually doing work. It was a lot more fun and interesting that way. I much preferred having one sleepless, stressed night than being stressed every day over shit that I would never remember.

And XXXX, what happened? You finish? Pass out? Give up and look at Internet porn all night?

Sorry XXXX. Had you read "The Voice of the Proletariat," I'm sure a plethora of people could have helped you.

In the future, this list might help you ahead of time and certainly, free free to check back with the list on any of them.

sorry that i didnt update you guys sooner, but i slept most of yesterday. i was up until 5:30 in the morning, still didnt get it done turned it in 2 hours late and told the professor that my car broke down. Hopefully she believes it! and yes clever username, internet porn is open 24/7 on the internet and i had to check some of it out halfway through this paper. haha.

seriously though, you guys have been a huge help! even the ones that were putting me down, because i would keep checking the thread and it kept me awake. i'm not going to school to be a journalist (obviously i don't enjoy writing that much), im a communication major so hopefully something in the television world. but as long as i get a decent grade on this paper, and in turn the class, i get accepted into temple university. thats why i was so desperate.

ill keep you guys posted on what happens. i feel like you all were part of this paper. thanks for helping a newbie out. and if you ever need my help, don't hesitate to ask.
