Impossible questions

Actually, especially in this electronic age, there's no reason you can't instrument a gas gauge to display it properly. You have a gas tank of known shape and, outside of slosh and incline/tilt problems, your measuring device outputs an electric signal that should be convertible to a direct measurement. And the incline/tilt issue would just require adding another sensor to measure that, although I wouldn't bother since it's just a transient situation.[/residualengineeringknowledge]

I would estimate that since the year 0, there have been in the neighborhood of 23 billion deaths. Right now, the Earth is at 6 billion plus, the highest it's ever been. Taking that total and going backward from there, that's the estimate I'd give.
