I don't know, but Sportsbruh is Jessie's girl.

I see Slappy went the Spano route.

  5. On a related note . . .

This could be the end of WFAN, and sports-talk radio to a larger degree, as we know it.

Imus brought in an ENORMOUS amount of money to the station. I haven't listened to him for a few years, but he once said, quite matter-of-factly, that the station wouldn't exist without him. I know he's said some crazy things, but the way he said it made me believe him.

Can you imagine Mike and the Mad Dog taking his place? You talk about advertisers fleeing -- a lot fewer people in the ideal demographics who listen to Imus won't listen to that crap. Imus, for his many faults, gave the station a cache far outside sports. I can't imagine an all-sports-talk radio station thriving in New York. (And no, ESPN1050 is not thriving.)

They're going to play rap music during that slot.

wow, nice of the gutless CBS executive suite to display all the qualities of a spineless amoeba.

Same offense, same action; first a two week suspension, then fired. Can you make up your mind? Better yet what changed? Certainly nothing the offender did, we know. Imagine he'll pocket a pretty nice severance package out of this.

I fully expect tomorrow he'll be asked to leave the country. You boys up north got room for one more to watch some playoff hockey?

he was going to croak eventually. the fan's next move -- what to do with the morning drive slot -- will be the most important the station ever makes.

    Two questions:

    - Just how bad were his ratings? I heard 18th in the NYC market? (Never been able to find a link, though)

    - If he jumps to Sirius, will I have to quit Sirius?

He was 25th in DC, tied with a station that's closer to Richmond than DC, and can't even be heard by most of the market.
