Russo is a great guy away from the mike. No, he can't handle it solo for an extended period of time.

Hey, Moderbutt. Any chance we can get this and Scoop's Sportsbruh's thread merged?

Mike and Chris had better believe that their time is almost up too.

They never did much for me. When Simmons wrote his column about how they were the best sports radio show ever or whatever, I wanted to gag.

  6. Anyone wanna bet that Alberto Gonzalez takes the blame for this firing eventually?

Is that the same Eric Wright who played DB for the 49ers?

Yeah, but one of them lost, so that's Imus' fault, too.

AND....the 2 starting QB's in the NFC Championship game were black!

  12. I haven't and would never defend comments like the one Imus made that got him the axe. I listened to him once in a blue moon and found him entertaining. And I get that this is a business decision made by CBS. But from the standpoint of hypocrisy (maybe this point has already been made by my liberal cohorts here on one of the many other Imus threads), there have been too many instances of racism and the like on the radio and TV by guys like Neal Boortz, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Bill O'Reilly and Glenn Beck to name a few that are all well documented at Media Matters http://mediamatters.org/items/200704120010 and I'm sure plenty of other sites on the Internets, including probably the hosts' own sites. Then of course there was Bill Bennett saying that you could reduce crime by aborting all black babies not too long ago. The funny thing is that all these guys, Imus excepted, still have jobs. My take is if you're going to can Imus for this comment, these other guys need to go, too. If racism of any kind is the standard, it should apply to all. I find some of the comments, Bennett's in particular, much more offensive than anything Imus has ever said.
