Out here for the weekend, and was talking about this with my coworker last night. Culver's, Krispy Kreme, Chick-Fil-A, Grimaldi's (originally in Brooklyn) and god knows what else somehow have a foothold in the middle of Arizona despite only being available regionally elsewhere.

Culver's is good. I mean, really, really good. Thinner, crispy-style burgers. What puts it over the top for me are the red onions and thick-cut pickles. Just fantastic.

As for my favorite in KC, there's a hamburger stand out near the stadiums called Hi-Boy. It's not officially summer for me unless I'm downing a greasy quarter-pounder, order of tots and a slushy Coke (thanks to the awesome crushed ice), whilst on my way to watch the Royals lose again.

There are a few Skyline Chili outlets on the Gulf side of Florida -- off I-75 for the Ohioans.

I'm a Cincinnati native who swears by Skyline Chili. Anyone visiting here needs to try it and then go to Graeter's for an ice cream cone afterwards, with a pretty serious workout later on.

As for burgers in the Cincy area, Terry's Turf Club and Zip's Cafe are popular local places. Both are great.

If you are in the Valley try this pizza. Get there when the doors open if possible. Great pizza.

Can't make it there at 5, and I just had pizza two nights ago. Do they do a "make your own" pizza? I didn't see that option anywhere, and each of those had something I don't eat on it.

Ate at Pizzeria Bianco a few years ago. Thought it was good, but not good enough to wait 3 hours to be seated, as we were that night.

I've yet to go to a restaurant where the food was worth waiting for three hours.

Hi-Boy is excellent. Always preferred Dixon's Chili as my I-don't-have-time-to-make-something-for-lunch-before-I-drive-to-Kauffman-Stadium food, but that's an opinion. Hi-Boy is fun and tasty and, correct me if I'm wrong, only like two or three miles from the stadium complex.

Five Guys recently opened a location in my neck of the woods. I've gone a couple times and thought it was pretty good, but still prefer In-N-Out. Fatburger is better than both, though.
