In-n-Out: Overrated.

Took the fiancee to In 'N' Out in Vegas last week. I had been raving about it for months and she finally got to experience it for herself. The verdict? She can be a bit picky but loved it, said it was much better than 5 Guys and wanted to go back the day we left (which was fine by me since I had already spent a ton on food and the like). She said that all things considered, on the next trip she'd rather go there than hit the buffets.

 

They're putting at least nine stores in DFW. We'll see how it goes. I remember when Krystal moved in a few years ago and the drive-thru lines stretched for blocks. Today all but three stores have closed.

 

And to add to the above, no love for Dairy Queen, y'all?

 

I don't buy into the hype of In/Out but compared to Krystal, In/Out is Ruth's Chris.

 

Krystal is for people who think White Castle burgers are too high quality.

 

I just hope Krystal follow's the Castle's lead with their own line of scented candles.

 

Anyone wanting to pick on Krystals will have to come through me. They are God's Saturday afternoon lunch of choice, I'm sure.

For the life of me, I don't understand why Cracker Barrel hasn't moved into California.

 

The whole "you can't openly hate gay people as a corporation" limitation probably has something to do with it.

 

They don't hate gay people. They just prefer that they work and eat elsewhere.

 

IIRC, that was about 2 management teams ago.

 

I'm in Phoenix and just saw a Five Guys here, so this is also a place with both Five Guys and In-N-Out.

Now that I'm unemployed (/crossthread), when I get home I'll do that side-by-side test.

 

Done it, at least in Phoenix. In-N-Out won for me.
