I bumped the original thread on the other board, but In-N-Out is weeks away from opening its first two of what now looks like seven stores in DFW.

And we have Five Guys here too. I also noted that Fatburger is coming to Dallas too. And I saw an El Pollo Loco in San Antonio. Carl's Jr. and Jack in the Box have been here for years.

I don't have to go to SoCal. SoCal is coming to me.

Five Guys has better fries. In-n-Out fries are fucking vile. Which tells you how good the burgers are -- I will eat the fries anyway.

I think they put crack in In-n-Out burgers. If you don't love it, you're doing it wrong.

Five Guys burgers are good too. But they aren't crack.

Another thing I've noticed (and this is probably all in my head):The farther you get from LA, the In-N-OUt experience drops a notch. Bay Area joints are alright, Sacramento is fine, Las Vegas is a step below, Phoenix is meh. God forbid they come to Dallas.

An LA double-double? Food of the gods.

I went to Five Guys today, and it was awesome. I was a bit shocked when I saw my food ended up costing $11, but it was worth it. Burger was great (though not up to In N Out standards), and the fries were awesome. Still say overall In N Out is better though.

At 2 a.m. you have to hit the Fatburger.

Actually had a burger at Hooters, of all places, the other night. Took advantage of their new Burger Monday special: Burger and fries for $5.99. Cooked to order, unlike Five Guys, which was cool. And surprisingly good.

A couple of years ago, my niece came out to California and she couldn't get enough of In N' Out.

I agree with this. The Phoenix In N' Out's were nowhere near as good as the ones in L.A. Don't know why.

My experiences were at Tucson In-N-Outs, so if y'all are to be believed then that makes sense.

I was back in California yesterday and had lunch at In N Out.

First time in probably about five years.

I had two Double Doubles. I passed on the fries.

    Better than I remembered...
