When you slug .374 last year and have hit 18 homers in 218 games like Bay has since joining the Mets, I'd say his value is pretty far in the toilet. That said, considering how radioactive Lackey has become (thanks to the off-field stuff), I'm not sure I'd do it straight up as the Mets fanboi loser I am.

That said, I'm guessing more teams are open to take the chance on underachieving pitcher than the underachieving hitter just because of supply and demand.

I'd say something with the Cubs and Soriano ($54 million left) could make some sense, but I'm guessing Lackey is the absolute last person Theo wants to see again

Soriano isn't exactly the type of player the Sox would want either. Poor fielding outfielder, with some power, but no plate discipline. Sounds like an Angels guy to me! Pair him up in that outfield with Vernon Wells, and he'd look great in the lineup next to Jeff Mathis...

Bay was given a ridiculous contract but I'd take him back in a heartbeat. He thrived playing at Fenway (admittedly the short porch helped him) and he wasn't a cancer in the clubhouse. The guy enjoyed playing in Boston, which can't be said for some of the ham-and-eggers they have now.

    Jon Lester has his say:

And who the fuck would order Popeyes? There isn't a better fried chicken joint down there than that?

    Good work.

Wonder what took him so long to address it.

And given the beating Lester is taking in Boston even while acknowledging some responsibility, don't look for Beckett and Lackey to issue their mea culpas anytime soon.

The Edes interview seemed more complete, juicier.

Maybe the more outlets he called the more fired up he was getting.

I will guess Popeye's isn't even in the top 25 fried chicken joints withen 10 miles of your place.

  11. Was it illegal to portray cartoon women with breasts when Popeye first came out? Olive Oyl has the chest of a 9-year old boy.
