Iowa's Kirk Ferentz says things could be worse -- he could be a sports writer

I'm going to go out on a limb and said someone became aware on Kirk's behalf.

He's still in denial about the shit his strength coach was doing and what his players were doing to coeds.
He said nothing wrong, in his mind.
A true apology would be to stand up in front of the same media gathering he did on Monday, with Doug in attendance, and apologize man to man. Apologies on paper might as well be written on toilet paper. Their end result is the same.
But, let's all wave to the sick kids.

I can honestly say there have been multiple occasions when I've walked away from a media scrum and thought to myself, "God, thank you for not letting me become a (person whom I just interviewed)."

I don't believe I ever lost sleep over the opinion of anyone who wasn't actually directly involved in my paycheck. And sometimes not even then.

"A helluva lot worse"? Does Ferentz not know Lesmerises works for the Plain Dealer?

As if Ferentz would ever be good enough. It's like the Notre Dame of sportwriting jobs.

He's been trying to hang on long enough to see his son get installed as head coach, as Bill Snyder and Frank Beamer tried to do.

At least the debacles of the last three years in Iowa City are keeping Brian Ferentz out of consideration for the HC role.

Iowa media is pretty soft, as is the rest of the Big Ten West media, outside of Nebraska. Different game in the Big Ten East.

Christian Science Monitor? Respected, though not widely viewed as a major player anymore.

That's the most offensive Iowa has been all season.
