I got my iPhone4s back in April, even with the rumors that the iPhone5 would soon to be released, and it's been amazing, even Siri. As far as work goes, especially on long road trips, the maps app has saved my ass more than a few times. Like LTL said, it's a great feature to be able to pull up directions from your current location and have them in front of you instantly. As for the iPhone5 –– granted, I still haven't done all my research on it yet –– but is it really worth going out and upgrading, especially if you have a 4 or 4s? Is it not like any other upgrades where one, maybe two big features are rolled out and that's it?

Kind of the way I did it. I needed to upgrade in June, the battery on my Blackberry (stop laughing) was almost dead, and my six-year-old iPod was just about gone too.
I was nervous about switching to a touchscreen, but the sales people told me that in a year or two that's the way everything is going anyway -- plus I use my iPod for interviews.
I picked up the 4 for $50 and I love it. I picked up the touchscreen quickly, and it does everything I need it to do -- phone, music, voice memos, Twitter for games -- no Siri. Dr. J spent $200 on a Droid and I think it does the same thing for the most part. The only thing I wish I'd done differently was get more memory for my iTunes.
Honestly, I have no need to get the new iPhone when I didn't get the latest version. I'll get the 5 when the 7 comes out.

Same here with AT&T. I know lot of people who hate them, but I've never had an issue. Plus I have the unlimited data plan so I'm kinda stuck. Does anyone know if Sprint offers unlimited data with iPhone 5? I believe they do but I'm not sure.

Sprint is the only major carrier still offering unlimited data plans. You do have to pay an extra $10 if you have a smartphone, though.

Of course Sprint's service in my new neighborhood bites, so I'm probably going to Verizon or AT&T (boo).

I have an unlimited everything plan - though I guess my carrier doesn't qualify as major. Still, one fee (129.99 a month for two phones) for unlimited everything. Calls, text, data, etc. Adding my daughter when she moves home will take it to 179.99 for three phones with unlimited everything

I lied about Sprint being the only one offering unlimited data. So does T-Mobile. AT&T (for new customers) and Verizon don't.

Considering the way Samsung got shut down in the court case, I'll be interested to see what the near future holds for their cell phone division.

Dumb question, but does the gig size for the iPhone refer to all of the memory available for whatever you add to it? So if I put my 13 gb of itunes on it, were I to get one, I'd only have 3 gb left for apps or whatever?

If I get an iPhone and iPad from, say, BestBuy, can I still go to the Apple Store and Verizon Wireless for support ?
