"Fags don't count in that, and as a result, anyone who supports those homo queers don't either," Phelps retorts defiantly.

"Well, then," God says. "You need to follow this road here. The further down it you go, the rockier it will get. When you see the flames, you will know you're close."

Then God turns around, walks through the Pearly Gates, silently latching them once He is through; leaving the Phelps Freaks staring at the closed gates.

Wait a minute -- we had a 16-page thread yesterday full of people convinced that Jerry Falwell was a bigot and hatemonger including a number of them who tried to compare him, his followers and others who belive as he does to Fred Phelps and company.

Yet, here we are a day later and one of the loudest voices against Falwell has started a thread acknowledging the fact that Falwell has in fact condemned and rebuked Fred Phelps and his ideals.....

Yes, that is very ironic. Thank you for sharing.

Actually, this is how I see it'll happen:

St. Peter: Hello sir, and welcome to Heaven! Name please.

Phelps: The most Rev. Fred Phelps!

SP: Oh ... so you're Fred Phelps!!?!? Um ... just a minute. *gets on phone* Yeah, God? Whasup. Hey, that one fella is here. ... Yeah, Fred Phelps. *giggles* I know, I know. OK.

He'll be right here Mr. Phelps.

*Minutes pass, God shows up *

God: So you're Fred Phelps?

FP: Yes Your Highess! Great to meet you!

God: You really think I'm going to let you in here ?? *God breaks into laughter* Away with this ... thing!

A quick use of the search function on this site shows the only reference to Phelps in that thread was made by Yawn, who wrote "Evangelicals, outside of the nutjob Phelps, understand what it means to love the sinner, hate the sin -- and I might add, have the intelligence to see that you can do both."

Well the search function isn't very good because there were more than a couple of references to Phelps and more than a few people trying to equate Falwell's views to those of Phelps.

I just did a manual search through the threads and found a number "logical leaps" from people and even found one guy who was comparing Falwell to the Taliban.
