Is Kevin Smith serious about Clerks III?

Not to mention Rosario Dawson is a pretty big star now and would probably command big bucks to be in C3.

She already was a star when she did Clerks 2.

Seems Rosario Dawson was getting a lot more exposure back when 'Clerks 2' was out than she's been getting for the past few years.

I don't think Rosario Dawson has ever been a "pretty big star."

Just hot with a nice rack...but not a "star." Her dancing to A-B-C was a highlight of that film.

Well she's certainly a bigger star than anybody else in the casts, including Smith himself.

Basically if Smith wanted her back, he would have to make some kind of semi-competitive salary offer, which would probably screw askew the pay structure of the movie. Although I suppose she might have had a good time filming C2 and give him a discount for old time's sake or do a one-day cameo like Affleck.

Actually, Dante's slacker nature is one reason I think they would still be married 10 years later: Many people might take action to get themselves out of a dead-end relationship, but Dante is definitely the kind of guy who would settle and say, "what the hell, I'm not going to get anything better."

    And he probably wouldn't.

Kevin Smith is a bigger name than Rosario Dawson. I don't think it's even close.

And Ben Affleck was in Clerks 2.

Dawson was in 'The 25th Hour,' which didn't do huge box office but got a lot of publicity.
She was in 'Alexander,' which was abox office disappointment but got a ton of publicity.
She was in 'Sin City,' which was a hit.
She was in the film version of 'Rent.'

It's fair to say she's not a big star, but it's also fair to say she had a higher profile leading up to 'Clerks 2' than she has now.

I could probably name three movies she had been in - Clerks 2, Kids and Sin City - and maybe I would have spit out Rent if you had given me enough time. According to Wiki, she was in Men in Black 2, which made about $500 billion but I forgot about immediately after I saw it.

I agree. But I don't think she ever was a big star or as well known as Kevin Smith, and I can't imagine why she would be so hard to bring back for a sequel.

I agree with you. Depending on what she thought of the finished 'Clerks 2' and whetehr she enjoyed working on it, I'd think she'd be easy to get back.

She seems to gravitate to stuff she finds interesting.

"Harder" is a relative term, because she's the only person in the cast of either Clerks who has any alternatives, at all.

Including Smith. What movie has he ever appeared in besides his own? The 5-minute semi-cameo as the computer nerd guy in "Live Free or Die Hard" is essentially his career pinnacle.
