Is Mitt running for president again?

How the last two presidents both managed to get themselves reelected, I'll never know. Says a lot about the American public -- none of it good.

Obama's Mt Rushmore effort is going to be seriously hampered by his track record of 5+ years of modern-era low increases in health care costs.

I'd vote for Obama again over any of the announced candidates in either party.

We haven't even talked about Mike Pence, John Kasich, Bobby Jindal, Mitch Daniels -- or even George Pataki, who all want to run.

Kasich is in for sure, and I think is in the top tier as far as experience and political skills. But, I'm not sure he'll get noticed, or be able to raise enough funds in this crowded field.

But, isn't the more interesting question whether or not anyone challenges Hillary? I don't think anyone can beat her, but who gets in? Biden, O'Malley, Sanders, Warren, or Webb?

Does someone at least make her campaign, spend some money, have to debate and/or do interviews, and meet with voter and/or editorial boards?

And, if the complaint the last time was that she was too cautious, is there any reason this time for her to be anything but even more cautious?

Does someone at least run just in case she somehow implodes. (And, I'm not suggesting that's likely, but hell, maybe she once referred to someone as a macaca, and it's on video.)

I really don't think Jeb would be hurt all that much by the family name. He is a much different person/politician than his brother, and Papa Bush is still seen as a pretty good one. But Jeb also is not as personable. He would need a good run in the debates and the campaign for people to get to know him. I might actually vote for him over Hillary. If it's Mitt vs. Hillary, I might be joining da man in Tonga.

    It's the power of incumbency.

Maybe but there's no real challenger unless Warren wants to make it messy and I think she's too smart for that. This way, she won't even have to go left for the primaries. She can play it right down the middle, right out of the Bill Clinton/DLC playbook. As Dick Morris would say, Triangulation, baby!

I think had more to do with the lack of a strong opponent.

Too smart because she has no chance to win?

She's the only one with a real chance to beat Hillary. She would have a strong base from day one, and would be able to raise money. And, she'll never have another chance to run.

Why is that? I'd be interested to hear more from Warren, but it doesn't look like she has any plans to run.

She'd be 70-years-old on inauguration day 2021. And, if Hillary wins -- assuming she runs for re-election, which she presumably would short of death, or major health issues -- she can't run again until the 2024 election, and which point she'd be 75 on inauguration day.

YankeeFan is going to be very upset if the Democrats don't beat up Hillary in the primaries in the Democrats' best interests.
