In 2012, looking at the game logs, it looks like Kaep averaged 6 rushes per game in his 7 starts that year.
    In 2014 he's averaging ... 6.8 rushes.

They said the same about the Wildcat. That had the shelf life of the Cabbage Patch Kids.

Off the top of my head I would say the runs in 2012 were more of the designed (zone read) variety. His running these days is scrambling the hell out of there. That's partially reflected in the yards per carry (6.6 in 2012 vs. 4.5 this year).

He also goes off a lot more in the playoffs in that regard. In his six career playoff games he has run for at least 98 yards three times. His regular-season career high is 87 yards.

In 2 non-starts he went 9/89 with 2 TDs and with the starts and everything else ended up 63-415 (6.6). Down side was 9 fumbles.

    In 2013 he went 92-524 (5.7) with 4 TDs and 6 fumbles (4 lost).

I guess I just see this tall freak of nature at QB who probably makes the offense better with his legs and arm instead of just his cannon arm.

Again it's one of those things: exploit him to the fullest for 4-5-6 quality years or try to mold him -- good luck with that -- into this great pocket passes at the age of 30-31. If you're playing for the time he's 30 or 31 then you're just not doing it right.

The local paper had an article with quotes from Steve Young where he said "athletic" QBs tend not to pay as much attention to detail as the Brady/Mannings who had no legs to fall back on. Walch constantly was in Young's ear to let the play develop rather than run.

IMHO Kaepernick's legs have two fundamental problems:

    1. He ALWAYS rolls left, never right; and
    2. He's fast but not quick, nor particularly elusive which leads to big runs but lots of losses and sacks.

Oh yeah, and his receivers are dropping balls too, see alleged All-Pro Vernon Davis and Crabtree.

Progression No. 1 is no good. Go to No. 2. It's no good. Go to No. 3. Take a side step. Throw pass.

RG3/Kaep/Newton/The next "QB of the future"
Progression No. 1 is no good. RUN!!!!!!!!!!!

It just doesn't work. You might catch lightning in a bottle on occasion. But long term, it just doesn't work.

Has anyone considered that the amplitude of RG3's suckage is in direct correlation to the angle of his dangle?

This is just the first step in Snyder's plan to trade up to draft Winston.
