Is RG3 done?

The Packers did the same thing with Rodgers after he suffered a couple concussions early on and he came back after missing a game and he was sliding where he used to dive. People forget how much Rodgers ran early in his career.

RG3 was a good pocket passer at Baylor and during his rookie season, but it's easier to throw from a clean pocket that is often the consequence of teams having to respect the run. I think the best thing Gruden could do for his team and his quarterback is to make Alfred Morris and Roy Helu the focus of the offense.

That's an underrated aspect to a mobile quarterback's success. Russell Wilson is also very good at sliding or getting out of bounds to avoid contact. Staying healthy is paramount to these guys' success.

Players like Griffin, Vick, etc., are so used to being able to make plays out of nothing, that they're almost unwilling to sacrifice a yard or two to protect themselves. Griffin may have reined that in to the point of being timid (I haven't seen a lot of him this year, so I can't say for sure), but to this day, Vick still dives forward rather than sliding. It's just foolish.

That's twice RG3 has been compared to Vick. Not good.

Yeah, I think Reid did that after the 2002 season when McNabb was having arguably his best season before he broke his ankle.

Aside from jail, at this point RG3 would be extremely lucky to have the kind of career Vick has had.

    Sad but true.

Anyone who thinks Robert Griffin III has a confidence problem is not watching or reading local DC media. Griffin makes Deion Sanders look like an overweight 15 year old girl with bad skin and braces with regard to self confidence.

Where are all those, and you and they know who they are, who said Mike and or Kyle Shanahan couldn't handle Griffin becuase of race, or worse, that the Shanahans are racist.

    Luck/ Griffin = Manning/Leaf?

Not even close. Leaf never had a season like Griffin did as a rookie and if Griffin is a bust from here on out, the injury will be blamed.

On top of everything else, Griffin slides for absolute shit. Its gotten just a tad better this year.

I remember doing an analysis during Rodgers' second year when he still wasn't quite ready. Between scrambles and sacks, he was only getting a pass out of his hand on about 75% of his drop-backs. Favre, on the other hand, was getting the ball out of his hand on about 93% of drop-backs. There's a major difference between a quarterback who really knows the offense and one who doesn't.

Most young quarterbacks take off running as a first instinct once they can't throw to the first or second read. The great ones get to their third and fourth reads -- sometimes resulting in huge plays. Even when they don't get a huge play, they manage to get rid of the ball for a harmless incompletion. There's a huge difference between the live-another-day throwaway and a sack. Understanding that it's a new coaching staff and a new offense, for a third-year QB RG3 is still taking way too many sacks and not getting rid of the ball enough.

Which injury is more the problem -- the ACL or the dislocated ankle?
