Steve Blass. Mackey Sasser. Rick Ankiel. Chuck Knoblauch. Happens all the time that promising baseball players seemingly forget how to do the simplest things. Happened in golf with Ian Baker-Finch and David Duval. Has there been an NFL equivalent?

Yup. The reason Wilson was able to go to Wisconsin for his last year without sitting out is that he had already graduated from NC State in three years while playing football AND baseball. He was taking graduate-level courses for his last semester at NC State, then transferred to Wisconsin.

Griffin graduated Baylor in 3 years too. There's differences in being smart, intelligent and educated.
Recently, Notre Dame and UNC have shown the public , as if the public needed a reminder, that when it comes to athletes and academics, you can't trust anyone.

Griffin is a smart kid, but I don't think he's coachable at all.

    Kaepernick is dumb and uncoachable.

Kaep may not be as coachable as Andrew Luck or Russell Wilson, but a guy did coach him to the Super Bowl, and he played pretty well in that Super Bowl. He's already experienced way more success in the NFL than Griffin, and I don't think we can just say that's all dependent on the talent around him. He may never be a consistently great player from the pocket, but I think you can win with him. I don't think Griffin is every figuring it out, period.

Snyder won't let him do it.

Well, Rappaport reportered this morning that Gruden discussed everthing within Washington's top brass and they are supporting his comments, and also revoking all special rules for RG3's entourage, meaning family no longer has run of the place. So it may be that Snyder is losing patience too.
