No, I just put the ball in your court.  I don't think he's Ronald Reagan or Abraham Lincoln, but he's better than John "I voted to remove Saddam Hussein" to "Wrong War, Wrong place, wrong time."  Brownback, maybe.  Feingold's a joke.

How about Barak O'Bama or Harold Ford Jr. from your party? I agree with a previous opinion on him.

  2. You know, you didn't have to take the "paltry" tax break. If you really were as concerned about things as much as you claim, you
woud have sent it back. Why didn't you?

So I guess it's better to drive the bus over the cliff just for the sake of being consistent than to realize that you went the wrong way, slam on the brakes, and stay alive.

I disagree with that sentiment, but Bush (ie, Karl Rove) evidently did a great job of convincing the American people that it was the right way to go. Of course, Kerry helped him out a ton by not coming out forcefully to refute his messages.

Nothing like SportsJournalists.com's version of Sunday's "Meet the Press."

  5. By what standard is he better than anyone?  He's fucked up everything he's touched. And, as I demonstrated, he's flip-flopped while doing so. Reagan's not Abraham Lincoln, either.
You asked for people of integrity. I gave you two. Obama -- he's not Irish, by the way -- would be OK with me. Ford, I'm less sure about because he's tailored his positions an awful lot since launching the senatorial campaign. I also admit to knowing less about him than I do about Obama, so I'll pass for now.

For the record, I would have voted for John McCain, and actually did so in the 2000 primaries.

The reason I did not vote for Kerry (he almost swung me with his convention speech remark about perhaps not claiming we're the party of God and asking ourselves if God could be proud of our party), but he basically showed no backbone, and for all the faults of the executive branch of government, I absolutely loathe the vast majority of Congress.

My wife tells me "You're not solving one damn bit of the country's problems, so why don't you get off your ass to help with a family problem and clean house?" Best point of the day.

    ON the run....

He fucked up the war by claiming an early victory and not sealing the damn borders after occupation. Any general worth the price of his piss could have seen that. When Powell bailed out, the whole operation got shaky.

So I've spent the last few hours in Lebanon covering a Little League tournament title game. Bloody hot and terribly slunky. No relief. But hey, it's baseball. One of the opposing coaches named Simpson — Simpson, eh? — got tossed from the game in the 2nd inning after getting in the home-plate ump's face and calling him "TERRIBLE!" He insinuated that the field ump was making bad calls on purpose because he had a son on the home team; this guy is a good guy and is fair to the fairest degree of the game. It's just that this tossed coach was on special from the Jerk Store.

Anyway, did I miss anything good in Lebanon, the real Lebanon getting ravaged? I'm still feeling hawkish today, so I hope Israel ups the ante and devastates what it needs to devastate. I don't think Hezbollah's Jerk Store leader is even there. Probably in Iran sucking off that president, or getting a reach-around.

I caught the Israeli defense minister's presser earlier and loved how he said Israel would continue to dominate the dojo as long as necessary. And then Hezbollah's reach-around lover said, "Oh yeah, well, Haifa's just the early battle, bishes!"

That was amusing, like watching this Simpson fella get tossed from a Little Legaue game for burning hotter than the sun and calling the ump "TERRIBLE!"

Dye, I asked you a simple question. You didn't answer it, so one final time - Better time and place to live: America under Clinton or America under Dubya?

    You have two possible answers:

    A.) America under Clinton
    B.) America under Dubya

Give your reasons if you like, but not necessary. Just want to see an answer.
