It is not going to end well for Johnny Manziel

With all due respect, his right knee was nothing but strands of limp spaghetti at that point. It was a matter of when, not if.

Haloti Ngata started the injury train rolling earlier that season with an absolute blast of a hit that sent his knee going TWANGGGGG

I know the Raiders haven't had a great history with quarterbacks recently, but eventually even they would cut Manziel.

Unless the Als can persuade someone to come out of retirement, Manziel is going to be playing until he's liquified. And even then, he might only miss the mandatory three plays and be sloshed back out there. The active backup quarterbacks have passed for a total of 14 yards in the CFL and the one on the one-game injured list has thrown for 160 yards as a pro. And I don't think the best QBs listed as free agents on the CFL website would sign/come out of retirement to be a part of this shit show.

When Drew Willy comes off the 6-game injured list, he'll be a decent option in case they decide to pull the plug on the Johnny Canada experiment. He threw for 3,800 yards with Winnipeg in 2014 but hasn't thrown for even 1,000 yards since then.

Drew Willy. LOL. Remember people from his town beside themselves when he didn't get offered from a big-time
    D1 school.

Of course the flip side is great pro quarterbacks who were nothing terribly special in college. Tom Brady being Exhibit A.

I guess the lesson is pro and college quarterbacking are two VERY different things.

The best college QB who won a Super Bowl was Elway, but Elway's teams weren't all that great. Most successful college QB was Montana who won a national title.

Manziel doesn't even need a football team. Partying in Vegas is enough for him.

    This is an interesting question:

I remember years ago sports Illustrated rated Steve Young as the greatest college qb ever and he won a super bowl.

Roger staubach won a heisman and two Super Bowls.

Joe Namath..well...he is joe Namath and I don’t want to thread jack.

As for bad qbs who became solid pros...I want to say jay Schroeder only started one game in college and became an ok qb. Matt Cassel was a college backup who became a longterm starter.

I was in the Astrodome for most of Houston's games in Ware's Heisman year. System QB, yeah, yeah, I know. He damn sure did what the game plan called for.

Ware's #1 wideout, Manny Hazard, had 142 catches for 1689 yards, an 11.9 average, and 22 TD's in 11 games. One guy.

    Ware went 365 of 578, 63%, 4699 yds, 8.1 ypc. 46 TD, 15 int, 152.5 QB rating.

No, he didn't do squat in the pros, but those Run 'n Shoot teams were like watching pinball.

Steve Young had some good games against "P5" schools and some games that stunk. Fun fact: Brett Favre got the part in Something About Mary only after Young turned it down due to the film's "coarse nature."

I do think he's underrated. But he wouldn't have thrown that much at a Pac-12 school.
