Exactly - Deadspin has taken a page from the terrorists handbook.

I'd be interested to know how you square your concern with blogger ethics with the use of profanity in that missive.

I don't see how the two are related. It's unethical to use profanity? Not sure I agree with Brian's approach, but he is free to be pissed off and express that.

On the issue of standards, I think there's a relationship, however tenuous.

(Sorry if it's already been posted, didn't want to wade through 11 pages of this thread.)

It appears Steve Phillips has been fired.

I don't get it. I mean, she wasn't *that* ugly, right?

How do you fire Phillips without firing her, too?
He behaved like an asshole. She engaged in behavior that borders on, if not encroaches over, criminal. This was not some innocent girl he exploited. They were two consenting adults (although perhaps the word "adult" should be applied loosely in her case.
If anybody saw "Reliable Sources" on CNN this morning, boy, did Gregg Doyel have fun with her looks.

She might be the one person who will kick his ass.

I wondered early on in this thread what had happened to her, and from what we can tell, nothing did as far a suspension or anything in-house goes.

My guess is that nothing will, for exactly the reasons to which terrier alluded. While Phillips' boorish behavior is punishable and under auspices of the company because they only go that far, the woman's actions/issues are, or have the potential to be, more along the lines of being criminal/legal.

Companies tread much more lightly in potential legal matters, and often will be careful not to fire someone in the midst of such a situation specifically to avoid accusations of not allowing due process (and side-step potential ensuing lawsuits, too) before taking action against somebody.

    Least surprising post ever.

That being said, I just found it on the CNN site and he called her ugly on the inside a lot more than he talked about her looks.

Hey, it was nothing you wouldn't say to your own mailbag readers right? ;D ;D
