    Her Town Too is such a great, great song....and so different from Taylor's other hits. No doubt the influence of Mr. Souther. RIP.

    Written at the time his marriage to Carly Simon was ending. That whole album (Dad Loves His Work) has songs that connect to his life changing ("Hard Times," "Only For Me" ...)

    I liked it when JD played a country-music patriarch in the TV show "Nashville."

    He shows up around 2:40 in this clip, which I always thought was a remarkable duet by a pair of actors -- Connie Britton and Charles Esten. I'm no country music fan, but this is on my permanent playlist.
