Best pizza I've had in the last 20 years came from a place in Shippensburg, Pa., simply called Pizza House. It closed around 1980, reopened in 2015 and closed again last year because they just couldn't stay in the black using the ingredients necessary to hold their high standard.

Unique crust, just slightly sour; unique sauce, just slightly sweet; unique cheese blend, a mix of sharp provolone and mozzarella. So good, it never had a need for anything extra.

I get a hankering for a good pie about 5 times a year these days. Not dogshit like Domino's, but a real honest-to-God pizzeria.

Chicago style, deep dish with cornbread crust…amazing. I don’t care if it’s “authentic” or not, taste is what matters and that pizza was tasty.
