It's a peace loving religion, 'cept for the 5,000 women killed annually

I haven't changed anything. In fact, I've said exactly the same thing in my two or three posts on this thread.

If you'd like to believe that you're not a racist, by all means, go right ahead. But the reality of the situation is the way the rest of the world views you. I don't think bubbler or myself routinely calls people out here for being racists. The fact that this is so very obvious to us and many others here should be some sort of indication to you that there's a problem.

That's all I'm saying. You wanna fix that problem, that's up to you. But the alternative is a miserable life.

I won't even go so far as to call poindexter a racist, as his persona on here could likely be much different from his true self.

    That said, his persona's racist.

    So's hondo's, for that matter.

Such is life. Lot of racists out there.

    1) Like you alluded to, you know nothing about me in real life. Whether you or Bubbler think I'm a racist or not bothers me not one ounce. As I'm sure would be the same if the situation were reversed. If you and Bubbler feel you "got me" with a racist label, feel free.

    2) If you feel like you got the goods on me enough label me a racist based on my postings, knock yourself out. But to use the argument "many others here feel the same way, so it must be true" is an appeal to the majority, and a fallacy.

There is such a pack mentality on the board here it isn't funny. Argue the merits of what I say. Not what the pack thinks.

“This region is religious and it is impossible to be yourself if you are a woman,” she said. “You can either escape by leaving your family and moving to a town, or you can kill yourself.”

I don't like it. Like I said before, sue me.

You keep saying it's "a few".

    I disagree.

Every Arab country, praying toward Mecca thrice daily, practices oppression of women and violent means to an end.

And the vast majority of those populations have cheered any activity that even nudges the Western heathens toward destruction.

Pull your heads out of your asses.

There are a few Muslims that wish our death just like Bills Gates has a few dollars.

Then by all means, cite some evidence in your favor.

Or reasonable people will go on assuming that the vast majority of ANY religion aren't terrorists.

    You're right.

    They aren't terrorists per se.

    Most are merely foaming-at-the-mouth supporters.

    But I'm anti-semantic.

Shit is virtually the same to me.

I got to page 6 and my brain started to bleed, so I'm skipping to the end.

Brutality and violent crimes against women isn't a Muslim or Islamic horror...it's a global horror.

There are countries where young girls have their vaginas sewn shut....where their clitoris's are sliced off, or ground into mush....where 11-year-olds are married off.

Violent uncivilized people, uneducated, archaic, savages.....whatever makes us all feel better.

You want to be indignant and outraged and mortified?  You're looking too far...charity begins at home. Crimes against women IN THE PEACE LOVING USA are mindblowing. A simple google:  In the US, there are approximately 2.3 million violent crimes committed each year against females aged 12 and older, including rape, sexual assault, robbery, and aggravated and simple assault.   Each year about 1.5 million women (age 12 and older) are assaulted by a husband or boyfriend; about one in six women have been sexually assaulted at some time in their life, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

I'm sure there's a stat for how many women in the US are beaten to death or otherwise murdered by the men in their lives....and I bet the number exceeds 5000.

As long as there are multimillionaire music artists in America preaching 'fuck the bitch up' to their minions, this country has a lot of work to do at home before pointing fingers across the globe.

First of all, we pray 5 times a day. Second of all, MANY Muslims in the United States do not have the opinion of hatred towards Americans. And if there are any Muslims who do, it is probably because they get treated badly buy people like poin. I can't tell you the how times that I've been racially discriminated because of my religion and culture. But do I have a hatred towards America? No, because I understand that not everybody is a racist in America and I am not going to judge a country badly because of a couple of people. American Muslims love this country and we love what it stands for. Freedom and equality to all is what Islam is all about.

Thanks for the input, buckweaver.  Did it take you all day to think of that?

21, I don't know when it became a requirement of the board to address EVERY related ill in a subject.  This thread was about an article written about 5000 honor killings each year in one particular religious sect.  It wasn't about rappers (we've had those threads) or the guys in the beater shirts killing their girlfriends.  Start a thread about those, and I'll post there.  Bubbler posted earlier that I should start a thread about ALL religions, not pick on one.  Okay.

Re: It's a peace loving religion. Really, it is. Honestly.

    That's a winner. Well-played, F_B.
