Buzz grew up and went to high school a three-hour drive from Norman. So he'll take a long, hard look at OU.

    Yup.

Herb Sendek left for Tempe five years ago. Alums threw around the names of Rick Barnes and John Calipari (if either got the job, everything except my degree goes in a fire). Barnes leveraged the interest into a fat extension in Austin. Calipari did the same at Memphis.

Wonder how many of those so-called supporters of the school would take Sendek now?

Now ... Let The Dance Begin ...

Herb Sendek did. Look at the way he was treated by many of the so-called supporters in Raleigh.

The Rick Barnes obsession with so many N.C. State fans is strange. Sure, he's from Hickory, but I don't think he's ever been associated with the school in any way. The guy exchanged words with Dean Smith once and became a folk hero to the Wolfpack. You would think he helped State win a title as much cred as that incident gives him with NCSU crowd.

Because Rick Barnes, while at Clemson, was willing to turn Iker Iturbe loose on Chapel Hill and openly jawed with Dean Smith, too many NCSU fans are convinced he can get the job done. I don't get it, either.

Funny ... Mike Krzyzewski didn't back from from Dean, either. Back in the days of the old Dixie Classic, Chapel Hill was up three with a second to play when Smith walked over to shake the rookie Duke coach's hand. Krzyzewski refused. "The damn game's not over, Dean!"

Let Barnes stay in Austin, where he can use the football equipment to get through practices.

Barnes would be nuts to leave Texas. He has the best job in the country. He gets paid big money and has a great recruiting base and resources at his disposal with hardly any pressure. If he goes to the Final Four or wins the Big 12, well that's just great. If his incredibly talented team blows a seemingly insurmountable lead in the conference standings or gets upset early in the tournament, that's OK too because its spring football/baseball season in Austin.

Programs and fans who don't appreciate a good thing when its there, will always dream about getting the best, even if it's no chance in hell of it ever happening.

This would never happen, but Capel at State would be interesting to say the least. He's an ACC guy and should get another chance to see if his Blake Griffin thing truly was a fluke. However, he'd never get the State job, they would give him the job just to fire him and dance around how they got one over on the Dookie.

Barnes isn't going anywhere. For that same money, the lunacy he would have to endure in Raleigh would be overwhelming.

Texas worries about Texas. N.C. State worries itself entirely too much with the goings-on in Durham and Chapel Hill.

As much as I think Jeff Capel would be a good hire, Precious Roy nailed it. The mere fact that Capel's background heavily involves another Triangle school will never be forgotten and will be drug through the mud forever.

Maybe NC State can hire Tommy Amaker. :D

NC State better get the right person in there. That person will also be charged with dealing with Yow as well. Yow would love nothing more than to crush Gary Williams with a passion.

Debbie Yow needs to worry about issues in Raleigh, not old problems now out of her control in College Park. I would hope she's smarter than that.

NCSU wants to get the right person in there. But will they hire the right person that somehow sees eye-to-eye with the Wolfpack Club? Good luck with that ...
