I thought that went down on Wednesday? That's when I heard about it. [/puzzled]

Nope, just saw it on local teevee. They may have closed the deal, but it was announced today.

It isn't exactly clear why but the heat on Anderson going to Arkansas is starting to cool.

Rumor is that the AD doesn't want the Nolan baggage that comes with it.

Things, of course, could change the day after tomorrow but if my people are correct, Anderson has not been contacted by Arkansas, neither has his agent nor has any Switzerland-style third party been called either.

They might have decided to wait until Missouri got bounced. That would have been the smart move.

You might be right. It was so ugly when Nolan left that the school might not want anyone associated with him. I think that would be a mistake.

Cincinnati AD is talking about extending Cronin's contract, says it's because he's hearing rumors that Arkansas wants him. According to the Cincy Enquirer, AD sez he hasn't been contacted for permission to talk to Cronin, and Ark hasn't spoken with Cronin... he's just "hearing rumors."

When Virginia played at Georgia Tech this year, I believe the reported attendance in the GT student section was 21.

They couldn't even get two dozen students to come out for the game. Unreal.

Intriguing name surfacing at Providence...Bruce Pearl.
Would certainly be a gamble considering the baggage he brings, but he's a relatively local guy, and he's the kind of big personality who could put some buzz back into the program. It's becoming pretty obvious that when Tennessee's eliminated, he will be too the next day.
Not the favorite by any means, but if Fairfield gets on a big NIT run, they get tired on waiting on Ed Cooley and if Bruce's available...

And in some weird circle of life, Buzz Peterson ends back up at Tennessee.

Probably not, but it would be funny.

Even funnier would be bringing Kevin O'Neill back for another run on Rocky Top.
