Word around the campfire is that Buzz Williams has a multi-million dollar buyout in place and it is going to scare some schools off, while Anderson's buyout is just a few hundred thousand, which is what makes him a much more attractive candidate to a place like Arkansas.

You're not biased. ODU is a better program than Wyoming -- from potential recruits to facilities to fan support to likelihood of success. Utah, moving into the Pac-12, would be a step up from ODU.

ODU is an immeasurably better job than Wyoming.

I didn't even know Wyoming had an athletic department. Or a university or any kind. Interesting.

Bullshit. Wyoming's got...uh...ummm...well, there's this steakhouse that's in an old brothel...

  6. Wyoming has no state income tax, one state university, and a $1B surplus. Too bad the legislature got no use fer that fancy book-learnin'.

Taylor would be well-advised to hear the pitch from Utah before considering any other possibilities.

Meat, Wyoming actually beat Gonzaga in the first round in 2002. Otherwise... yeah. Two NCAAs and a handful of NITs in 24 years. Football's a higher priority right now.

Uh, MMII: It is Fennis Dembo, not Dennis Fembo.
He of the infamous quote about being African-American in Wyoming: "I mean, I'm vivid!"

Yeah, well, I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

Wyoming needs a coach who can run 40 minutes of hell. If the pressing game works for Tad Boyle in Boulder at about 5500 feet, imagine what it can do in Laramie at 7500 feet.
PC is winning! New England is becoming a recruiting hotbed (there are Rhode Island kids playing significant minutes at Louisville, Florida, West Virginia and Oregon this year), and Cooley's plugged into it. Plus, defense, which was only the structure you put alongside your house in the Keno Era, is a must if you're playing for Ed. And the inmates will no longer be running the asylum, either - the number of off-court incidents (including a serious one my brother-in-law, a season ticket holder, told me about that hasn't hit the news yet) should shrink drastically.

In truth, there are probably very few state universities that can match the financial and infrastructure investment made by the University of Wyoming over the past decade. And the athletic facilities have been transformed, with major upgrades to the stadium, a brand-new weight/strength complex, an indoor practice facility, etc. And unlike Virginia, the state is not going broke.

Yes, many see Laramie as the end of the earth, But the campus is very attractive, there's a 15K arena, a historically rabid fan base waiting for anything to cheer about in men's basketball, no state income tax, and Taylor obviously loves living in the West.

Not so much of a step down at all.

If the rumors of Anderson getting $2.2M per year from Arkansas are correct, then Jimmy Sexton is the best agent ever.
