It's that time of year: College coach carousel!

That would be a bit harsh, seeing as he just started at Oregon this year.

I loves me some KC Star, but 10 names and one sentence each for five of them?

    /Not sure if serious.

What do you want? A full bio?

The Star did what you're supposed to do.

The Richmond coach is now apparently on Tennessee's list. That would seem to make a lot more sense than thinking the National Coach of the Year wants to come to Knoxville.

I cannot think of a worse fit than Chris Mooney at Tennessee.

Hard to explain in the short amount of time I have but those who know him will probably agree.

I know nothing about him beyond what his teams have done. I just think for Tennessee, hiring someone from a mid-major seems a lot more logical than trying to hire a HC from another SEC or Big East school. I know ESPN had listed the VCU coach as a possible candidate, but the Knoxville paper has made no mention of him.

Bernie Miklasz seems to think Mizzou has at least a little bit of a shot to land Matt Painter. I think the chance of that happening is somewhere around absolute zero, but it's fun to dream.

My gut, which is ample (but not as ample as Bernie's), still says Cuonzo Martin.

I can't imagine that Purdue wouldn't find a way to match whatever offer Mizzou made.

Several thousand fans in attendance at Bud Walton Arena for Mike Anderson's introductory presser. I think this is the loudest the crowd in Bud Walton has been all season.

Agree. Young, up-and-coming coach who would surely do very well there. Could probably get him fairly cheap, too.

To play devil's advocate, though, does Missouri need to make more of a "splash" with this hire? Their fan support was pretty poor all season. They were ranked in the top 15 all through the nonconference season, and I think I read where 7 of their 10 home games had less than 10,000 butts in the seats. Plus there's the faction of the fanbase that sees Missouri State as MU's "little brother", and therefore any coach from there would be unqualified to take over at Missouri.

Fair or not, I think the fans' reaction to the hire and the PR aspect of it is huge.
