It's that time of year: College coach carousel!

Not to mention that Painter is a lifelong Purdue guy, grew up in the area, played there, was an assistant there, now head coach there. No way he leaves that for a lateral move like Mizzou.

I don't know how you get excited about a coach you can introduce during Sweet Sixteen weekend.

Yes, I'm sure Calhoun, Williams, Self, Matta, Calipari, etc. are looking to make a move backward any day now.

Some of you need to lighten up with the "Win every year or you suck" claims.

If you're in charge at Tennessee you want your fans to think you think the coach of a rival school would take the job at your place.

Tennessee will announce that they've hired Missouri State's Cuonzo Martin on Monday.

ETA: Martin resigned from MSU today but won't be introduced until tomorrow, apparently. But MSU's release said he's headed to Tennessee.

I could see the Butler coach coming back next season, but where does the VCU coach land? There's no way in hell he comes back.

Missouri's willingness to put $2M on the table for a coach who hasn't been to a Final Four will certainly be interesting to one who has.

You've gotta figure Stevens and Smart are a season or two away from Jim Grobe territory if they don't strike while the iron is hot.

And has anybody heard anything on the Tennessee front? ;D

I kind of think Stevens can wait for any job he wants as long as he keeps winning. He's gone to the NCAAs all four years, and while Butler has the reputation of being "just" a mid-major, it seems to be establishing itself as a power team not in a power conference, i.e. Gonzaga, Temple, Xavier, etc.

    Stevens can wait. Smart cannot.
