Another of your skills is to misstate what someone said when they call you out. You tried that before in the NCAA thread, too.

Note that I say you claimed all of the mid-major teams had only one blue-chip player. That is not the same is saying you claimed VCU had a blue-chip player. So I guess you are right -- you never said that. But I never said you said that.

Back to the mid-majors: You might not have said "blue-chip," but it's reasonably clear that is what you meant.

The point is the same. You said one thing in one place and then the opposite in another. The link is right here.

Where are the five star recruits going?

There you go again. Whenever you get pinned on a point, you try to escape by making a new, barely related one.

I think it's time to read past your "ideas." I'm sorry I pointed out your conflicting statements. Good to see you like those Rivals recruiting rankings, though. That tells me a lot about your college basketball knowledge base -- mostly coloring by numbers and then scratching your head when the results vary.

What statement is crossing you up? What point am I pinned on?

That Brandenberg is a great talent? For VCU, he is agreat talent, and when he is a junior and a senior, he is going to be a hell of a player.

You can booknote that post as well.

Seeing reports of Haith to Mizzou.

If they paid Haith more than 750K they're out of their mind. He's been dying to leave Coral Gables for the last four years. What a weird hire - one tourney trip in seven seasons, no winning conference records.

The much-vaunted Leonard Hamilton at the U: 10 seasons, two NCAA berths (in his last two seasons, thanks to Tim James and Elton Tyler), an overall losing record.

And that was playing in the Big East. Haith's facing ACC teams.

To get a tourney berth there is a minor miracle. It's a basketball wasteland.

If said reports are coming out of St. Louis, they're more than likely wrong.

    Memory loss on your part.

Go to the post I linked to. Then look at the point you made here. Opposites.

Bernie isn't reporting it. Jeff Goodman from Fox Sports is reporting that it's done deal and Haith bolts for Columbia. Pat Forde on his Twitter account said Mike Alden better have the explanation of the century for this hire.

Wow. They go from nearly landing Matt Painter to Frank Haith?

The Missouri AD may have his house burned down by the time he gets back to Columbia. Mike Anderson has spent the last 2 years actively listening to other job overtures, and the AD's best contingency plan includes a guy who went 43-69 in the ACC, including 10-22 the last 2 seasons, and reached the NCAAs 1 time in 7 years?

The only way this is hiring can be defended is if everyone else on the AD's list, including people like Rose, Alford, Smart, Marshall, Jacobsen, Tubby Smith, Pastner, Stevens, plus every "name" assistant at every power program in the country, turned him down.

I feel badly for Haith. He may very well be a decent person and a decent coach, but his honeymoon period with MU fans already is over (and never existed in the first place).
