That is kind of what a defense lawyer will do in court, don't you think?

Didn't Marcia Clark once say hairs could not be split?

Now that Trayvon's mother said that she believes the shooting was an accident, I don't see Zimmerman doing much or any time.

Why does Chauney Billups always at those pressers. Is he there to lend support?

It's out there now. Her lawyers, who were sleeping at the wheel, should have told her to STFU.

It really doesn't matter what she says.

A lawyer's obligation is to make the jury consider every possible avenue, especially when someone's life (behind bars) is in play. Its up to the jury to decide whether the answer to the question is worthy of consideration or not. See, I do not get caught up in the dramatic questions by lawyers "isn't it true you were there killing him" when the answer is "No." The question means nothing then. Yes it plants a seed, but its up to the jury to only look at facts, not arguments.

Now, my style is you don't push so hard on "splitting hairs" if I'm going to lose credibility with the jury. If the point appears obvious, and you keep pushing anyways, they think you're wasting their time and you're just arguing to argue.

It would appear that either way, the message is clear to Zimmerman, back off, especially when (1) he's not supposed to be armed and (2) more importantly Martin was never armed.

People do time for accidently killing others all the time.

    It does matter.
Of course the case will be tried on the evidence, but as the boy's mother, her opinion matters greatly.

Not in the court room its not. She was not there, she has no idea what happened. Her opinion means (should mean) zero. A competent judge should never allow her to give her opinion as to what happened or even answer anyone who asks her what is her opinion on what happened. Not relevant, not a fact.

If there's enough of a protest and threat of future violence they'll let her put the noose around Zimmerman's neck, on pay per view.
