The Interrupters care. (Not the Academy, though).

If I said "no one went to the Oakland A's game, and you "corrected me" by pointing out that 9,000 people attended, would that really be evidence that my statement was "wrong"?

I'm happy to stipulate that one, two, three, or maybe even 9,000 people care about the violence on the West & South sides of Chicago. In the grand scheme of things, it's the equivalent of "no one".

And, the bigger question is, what is being done about it?

Because, you can be damn sure that if there was an uptick in crime in Lincoln Park, the cops would be all over it. We saw this last summer when their were incidents on Michigan Ave., and North Ave. Beach.

But, then what can be done? When their is an uptick in crime on Michigan Ave., North Ave. Beach, or Lincoln Park, the merchants and residents demand additional police.

Too often, the residents in high crime areas view the police as the enemy -- as intruders. And, they oppose aggressive policing -- even when successful.

As for Pfleger, I am aware of him. A couple of thoughts:

-- He's white. So, while he is very active and focal in the community, and has long led an African-American congregation, he can't be as effective as members of the African-American community.

-- I think he does genuinely care about the issue.

-- He's a loud mouth interested in headlines, and picking fights with the Bishop/Cardinal. He doesn't respect the chain of command in the Church

-- I have serious concerns regarding his personal conduct, and would be reluctant to hail him as a hero.

Gotta love Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless. It's entertaining folks.

If you're a "Christian" leader and you're going to make borderline racist, but definitely fact-less charges...you might not want to plagiarize them to boot!

What's odd about it? The judge was upfront about the possible conflict of interest.

That CNN is reporting on a conflict of interest caused by CNN hiring someone to work as an analyst for CNN.

This story has been out for a week now. The judge raised it at the arrangement.

The guy worked for CNN prior to this case. He was used on Anthony case.
