Yes, because of course only one side of the political spectrum engages in such activity.

I wasn't talking about the political spectrum, right or left, liberal or conservative. That's not what I meant by the other side. I was talking about one person.

Some of you really need to learn how to debate, disagree, etc., without dropping F bombs and the like. It ain't that hard.

Want this discussion to continue? Knock off the bullshit - and the political talk. None of the moderators has the time to baby-sit a few people who fuck it up for the rest of those who can and will discuss things with a modicum of intelligence.

He called the police, left his car with a gun and confronted someone who was walking to the store buying Skittles.

All Martin was doing was walking - while being black.

Did he confront Martin? Was that evidence introduced in court? I'm sure it would have been considered relevant.

Exactly how did he "confront" him? In what manner?

What were the first words spoken between the two people, and who spoke them?

An inability to answer either of these questions leaves the debate about who confronted whom completely up in the air.

Zimmerman made the initial move to call 911 and to try to keep tabs on Martin's whereabouts. But that in and of itself does not reach the level of a confrontation.

It's interesting to see people --- people who have no personal connection to the participants --- react to cases like this. All the demonstrations and riots. Whether it's Rodney King, OJ Simpson, Casey Anthony, Zimmerman, whoever.

What would the reaction be if the verdict had gone the other way? Would we be any better off if Zimmerman was sitting in jail someplace? Do people see him as dangerous or a threat to them?

And why do people assume they automatically know better than the people on the jury who took the time to sit in court and actually listen to weeks of testimony and evidence?

I didn't know Casey Anthony's child was black

    See the post above yours.

By the way, walking while being black does not include jumping a guy and beating him. Or are you saying that's how black people act?

  11. Seems as if the only person who saw Martin "jump" Zimmerman was Zimmerman.

No evidence was presented at trial to suggest Zimmerman confronted Martin.

And, Martin was walking home from the store, having purchased Skittles and iced tea*.

So often in this case, folks present a scenario of their own, which has nothing to do with the facts, and then wonder why the jury didn't come to the same outcome they did.

Why don't we all stick to the same set of facts?
