    I don't think so, no.

I mean, there's a valid point to be made, somewhere deep in there, but it's not really related to this story. The comparison, as has been demonstrated, just doesn't hold up.

Go ahead and Google 'shawn tyson trial'. Getting plenty of attention. Here and abroad.

heyabbott has some very strong, yet vague and confusing, feelings on this issue.

I'm sure those strong feelings are neither vague nor confusing to him.

This is a great piece from Bomani Jones. This kind of things happens way too often with black men, but people are jumping on this story because, as Az said, it's quite easy and simple to take the side of the victim: http://www.bomanijones.com/trayvon-martin-black-man-deserves-die/.

In cases like these, Obama is being sought out as the Black President. Certainly, Obama knows personally what it's like to be 17 years old and have people look at him suspiciously. I'm sure there are reporters who were chomping at the bit to ask Obama about Trayvon Martin. It's certainly easier than writing about the stupid ol' World Bank.

His answer -- If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon Martin -- echoes all the way back to the speech on race he gave in Philadelphia during the primary.

As I recall, he talked about how much he loved his grandmother, who raised him, but who also admitted to being scared of young black men walking on the street. Men who looked... Like him.

Video of Danroy Henry taken from police cruiser as he is lying in street. Parmedics do not show up until 3 minutes into video. They were attending to knee of cop who fired the gun.

Other cops walking around with no clear concern for Henry or getting him to trauma center.

    Just heartbreaking to watch.

Where are you finding all these links about that case if it was ignored by the media?

I'm not a fan of Sharpton -- at all. I think he's a rabble-rouser. He often plays loose with the facts. And, while he has matured, his whole career is predicated on a false story.

That said, there's no point wondering why he gets involved in some events and not others. Sharpton -- for lack of a better term -- has a "brand". This story aligns perfectly with his brand. of course he's gotten involved.

And, he's not going to get involved in events that don't align with it.
