Miami Herald reports that Martin was suspended from school for marijuana and not excessive tardiness as originally reported. Paper states that this is confirmed by
    Martin family attorney.

The police have already been caught lying, to such a degree that the chief had to step down. They are under furious attack for their inaction.

I don't know why anybody would consider a police report -- particularly one with vaguely sourced witness statements -- to be a credible re-telling of events in this case.

Yes but the original reason given for Martin staying with his father was that he was because he was suspended for
    excessive tardiness.

You may recall this was a question debated early on this thread.

Still doesn't do anything to justify the event that took place.

I'm not sure who offered the original excuse, either, so I don't know whether it's a question of family truthtelling or bad reporting.

Regardless of what actually happened (and I'm not inclined to believe anything from the police, who are trying to save their own asses), the stand your ground law encourages just this kind of vigilante behavior.

Want to shoot someone? Just go follow them and provoke them into taking a swing at you. If you had a "reasonable" belief, you're good to go.

Bernhard Goetz must be just tickled pink. He'll be moving to Florida any day now.

How could an unarmed person possibly kill someone who is armed and weighs substantially more than he does?

CNN poll: 73 percent of Americans say Zimmerman should be arrested:

Why do I get the feeling that "minute that people are unsure of," tells us a fuck of a lot more about this than the minutes that they believe they are sure of.

I would imagine the armed individual wouldn't know whether the other person is armed.

As for the weight, that is a weak argument.

More relevant would be who is in better shape, stronger, better trained. Zimmerman looks like someone my wife could whip. (Without the gun, of course).

I take my cues from Al Sharpton, who is interested in truth and justice for all.
