But what does his brother think about it?

Understand I am not blaming Twitter, Facebook and the Internet, but I keep wondering where we'd all be with this story if it happened in, say, 1987. Better staffing at the Florida papers. More editors asking questions. No "same name, wrong kid" photos trending. Not as much misinformation being so widely distributed, and certainly not as quickly.

I know it's a mixed bag, and there are good aspects to it, but this is another reminder that despite technological progress that is supposed to aid reporting, we often look like we're getting worse at it, not better.

There has to be a connection to the halls of power here that we aren't aware of yet. Maybe it's through his dad, a retired magistrate judge from Virginia. I don't know. But they have just lain down for the guy too much for it to make any sense.

What's that? You say you have a picture? Well, I guess that settles it then.

Zimmerman should not have chased him. That's for law enforcement. I have a concealed carry permit and I wouldn't do that. I always look first to retreat and have done so many times.

Here in NC you can shoot in self defense if you fear your life is in danger. The problem is who makes the determination whether someone's life really was in danger? The LEOs doing the investigating weren't there. That makes it tough.

Unfortunately, for every three people who own a gun and use it responsibly (like you) you have at least one not only don't use it responsibly but are JUST FUCKING DYING to use it on someone. We all know these people. Some of us call them relatives.

Everything is in dispute until we have all the facts.

I've got to say that I disagree with you here. There is a picture of my daughter shooting the finger at my boyfriend out there on Facebook. It is one of my favorite pictures of the two of them, just because I know their background and what was going on at the time the picture was taken. If you view the picture in reference to the other pictures in that album, you would think nothing of it. Taken out of context and on its own, it could be construed incorrectly. And I can promise you that in every day life, my daughter is a prime example of some who is sunshine and lollipops, not a sulker.

We have the recording of George Zimmerman's 911 call in which he's following Trayvon Martin.

Jeb Bush's interpretation of the law he signed into effect may be incorrect, but there are a couple of facts all versions of this story agree upon. Zimmerman following Martin in his car is one of them.

Stand your ground could also apply to Martin as well it he felt threatened by Zimmerman. One of the narratives states that he came up from behind Martin who was by his truck and clocked him.

Obviously harder to prove unless there is witness.
