It reads like Mr. Muhammad is prone to hyperbole.

So that's your problem with the BP bounty, hyperbole?

And it sounds like you're an apologist.

Hyperbole or not, he was not advocating an "arrest."

Maybe he's advocating arrest, trial and state-sponsored execution. The bounty originally specified Zimmerman's capture. As did the militia manhunt I posted two weeks ago that no one noticed because it wasn't sponsored by the 'Black Panthers.'

Look, before this gets twisted: I'm against vigilanteism in any form. Period.

But if you are advocating arrest, trial and state-sponsored execution, you don't mention "eye for an eye" when asked if you're INCITING VIOLENCE.

With any of these threads, it's only a matter of time until the debate becomes about some BS like the "New Black Panther Party," whoever the hell they are. If they didn't exist, some folks on here would have to invent them.

Don't think Trayvon was a member.

The question and the answer are so truncated in the story, I think it's pretty hard to characterize them.

If the Black Panthers originally meant to say 'dead or alive,' why not just say 'dead or alive?'

Poor misunderstood Black Panthers. But I wouldn't be so quick to defend them, Az. Not because of the silly bounty that means nothing, but because they're screwing up the narrative. Won't someone think of the avatars?!

I'm not defending anyone. Like you, I think we'll all be better off if cooler heads prevail.

If the 'Black Panthers' meant to incite violence, why not just incite violence?

I agree the bounty is more about the message than the act. But the message should not be ignored or just written off as something that doesn't matter. Especially in such a high-profile case. That's like saying the white supremacist hacking is no big deal because the people the hacker aligns himself with are fringe lunatics, which is true, but no reason to downplay the legitimately negative reaction.
