That would be the likely reason.

Have to imagine an arrest is forthcoming then, right?

As I'm too fond of saying, "predictions are for suckers."

    We'll see.

    Well, yeah.

But, if she decides not to go to a grand jury, and then concludes her investigation without an arrest, people are going to go crazy.

At the very least, a Grand Jury investigation would "cover her ass".

She's got to feel confident that she has enough evidence to authorize an arrest, and get through a preliminary hearing.

AP story notes that this prosecutor is well-known for skipping the grand jury entirely if it isn't required. It's only mandatory for first-degree murder cases.

Kinda makes you wonder what the grand jury is there for, then.

Well, it does eliminate all the white guys driving red or blue pick-ups at least.

She's going to use her discretion and charge him and risk a preliminary hearing which I believe is the most expeditious way to get Zimmerman behind bars right now.Waitin gout a grand jury would take way too long, time, a luxury that the PD blew already.

Nice. Portable road sign in Michigan has a choice word for Trayvon.

Why does he need to be behind bars right now?

I think what qt is saying is that a preliminary hearing is the quickest way to a probable cause determination.

If there's PC, I'm sure he will be held on bail.

What's he charged with? Why would he not be granted bail?
