Or maybe the black football player is actually innocent.

I mean, I keep hearing the word "victim" thrown around and the more I read about this the more convinced I am that the only victim in this is the big black kid who had his name trashed by some chick who was embarrassed because her boyfriend found out she was banging the QB and started telling stories

You're usually entertaining. On shit like this, though, you really should go away.

I'm not trying to be entertaining, even a little bit.

You don't find it strange that the accuser would not tell the police who her "boyfriend" is?
You don't think the race of Winston plays into the ridiculous lengths people are going to say "well, this doesn't mean he is innocent...."

Why aren't people questioning the girls story more, now that it was prove to be bullshit?
Why aren't people crushing the media, who dragged this dude's name through the mud while keeping hers a secret BEFORE there were charges?

Again, there definitely is a victim here but it ain't this accuser that much is becoming more and more clear as the day goes on

All that happened in the hour between the incident and when she contacted the cops?

Well seeing as there were two people watching/listening to the whole thing, yes.

All I am saying is if you connect the dots here it is pretty clear this chick is either (a) delusional (b) lying or (c) was handed some really good drugs that caused her to lose her memory and were not detectable in testing.

I don't think Winston is a hero or some martyr, but I do think he had consensual sex with a chick

No one said he was beloved ... just that he was tough, fair and has no problem clapping the irons on an FSU football player.
And the reason the police let it lag is that was early as February, the girls lawyer wouldn't allow her to be interviewed.

So after two months of the police dawdling, and after they told her to think real hard about whether she wants to continue because Tallahassee is a "big football town," she doesn't talk to them. Big shock there. They should have been investigating it the morning of Dec. 8. That's what real police would do, anyway.

They kept Winston's attorney informed of all developments but didn't bother to tell the state prosecutor the case even existed until the media forced their hand 10-11 months later. Even Meggs had no answer as to why that happened. But yeah, that's not odd.

Heisman voters equate date rape with DUI anyway, so its not a big deal for them to give him the trophy. The E comes first for ESPN so they'll be happy that there's more interest in watching. Nice story line of the poor kid overcame being a rape suspect to lead his team to an undefeated season.

It's not like they'll have Lizzy Seeberg on a panel discussing what its like seeing the guy who raped you being feted as a hero.

Did you read the police report?

Here is why I don't believe her. It starts out as her saying, "no," fighting him off, putting up a battle. It eventually becomes, "I didn't yell. I was really drunk and quiet." Huge red flag when her story softens like that.

To take a line from Selena Roberts: Something happened in that house. I think Winston's friends were complete assholes, trying to push a gang bang on her. And video. And I think it's very easy for an embarrassed, angry young girl to convince herself in short order that she didn't want to do this to begin with.

The police report is biased. Since they did not forward the 'high profile' case to the States Attorney until months after the fact, it shows, to me, they intended to sweep this away with the least amount of notice. The States Attorney would have Grand Juried the victim and witnesses within weeks of the police forwarding the reports, before any taint or memories or payoffs occurred.

Wonder which detectives are going to the National Championship game, gratis?
