"In its 2011 "Dear Colleague Letter", OCR said, "Conduct may constitute unlawful sexual harassment under Title IX even if the police do not have sufficient evidence of a criminal violation. In addition, a criminal investigation into allegations of sexual violence does not relieve the school of its duty under Title IX to resolve complaints promptly and equitably."

If you applied this across the board you'd have to expel about 80 percent of the male students at any given university.

    Really? 80 percent?

It seems, from the USA Today story, one of the big issues is that Florida State brought in Winston to tell his side of the story, but never brought in the complaintant to tell her side. Florida State still could have decided, "Nothing to see here."

According to one report, Winston took the NCAA's new "unlimited food" rule literally:

Florida State's Jameis Winston was arrested for allegedly shoplifting crab legs from Publix.

LOL. Crossthread, and all that, but he was arrested for stealing crab legs.

Almost as bad the gross misuse of allegedly.

Educate me. What's wrong with that wording?

Besides, I get a pass. I'm not paid for my words.

As it turns out, he was merely cited, not arrested.

But I think we can agree he's really, really dumb.

Exactly, Publix is no place to get good crab legs.

    "Arrested for" presumes guilt.

    Use "arrested and charged with..."
