    Maybe he can, Doc.

Maybe he'll have something to say worthwhile. My guess is, if he did, 99 percent of his readers wouldn't care that it was on the sports page.

And it's impossible to read anything you post about him without thinking it's personal, given your history with him here on SJ. When it comes to Whitlock, you should just recuse yourself (and you're obviously not alone).

As an aside, I've ripped Mizzou about stuff from time to time, but this "star fucker" charge that's been brought up against him lately is so lame. The dude has been here for years and has criticized high-profile writers - at length - plenty of times. If he were a star fucker, he wouldn't rip Albom every chance he gets.

What's my history with Whitlock, exactly? And I'll keep your advice on which topics I should post in mind.

EDIT: And Mizzou has made it very clear his bashing of Jemele Hill is personal. I'm looking forward to your post telling him to "recuse himself."

WTF is the point of sections then if you're just going to run random shit on each of them?

Just change the flag to sports/politics. ::)

Jersey: Is this a corollary of the jealousy argument? And who gave you power over what someone can post? One can dislike or even hate what he did or represents and still comment on his work or where it was played.

Or let's try this: you should recuse yourself from commenting on big-name writers, because you always are profuse in your praise of them.

i didn't know albom was a star. seems as though everyone here thinks he's a fraud.

real ballsy on the star fucker's part, isn't it?

Doc, you've ripped him at every opportunity on every subject for years. Do you deny that?

And Dools, it's certainly not true that I'm profuse in my praise of "them", if by "them" you mean big-name writers. I can - and have - critized Albom, Lupica (although I grew up loving him), and a ton of other writers on SJ, including Jason Whitlock at length. I've criticized big names and nobodies. And, yeah, I've dished some praise. Is dishing some praise really a negative these days?

If a moderator can give me an honest reason why that post was deleted, I would be very grateful for it.

Yeah, I do. I got along with him, and actually defended him at times, until last year. Hell, I got into a pretty big pissing match with Tom Petty over it back when Petty was an infrequent poster. Perhaps you're thinking of someone else.

Dools, that first sentence is ridiculously whiny. And the second one, well, of course one can do that. But around here, when it's done, it's rarely, if ever, objective. It's essentially the opposite of tp's "star fucking," this tendency to pile on a big name because everyone else is doing it. It's like junior high around here on a thread like this.

Except when someone chooses to be critical, Jersey, you more often than not say that person is jealous or has an ax to grind. Are you the only one with the ability to criticize on point for no ulterior reasons? Or just you and Pallister?
